Head shots and professional portraits are not just for actors and dancers anymore. Professionals in all fields need that perfect shot for websites, social media and other internet based media sites.

A natural backdrop is a fresh approach to the more traditional solid gray or white look and prefered by most of my clients. Picking a favorite location can lend to a more relaxed session.

what to expect from your session ~

My approach with all clients is the more relaxed, the better the picture. Most people do not enjoy being photographed (I am no exception!). I take my time to engage my client, understanding the fears, desires and concerns about their photo shoot. I encourage clients to hold sessions in familiar and favorite areas, to lessen the amount of time spent becoming and staying relaxed.

After signing the initial contract and deposit, I will schedule a phone consult a few weeks before the anticipated session. The consult will include details about location, expectations from the client and time the session will take place. On the day of shooting, I will spend more time getting to know you and easing any lingering apprehensions.

what to remember when scheduling your session ~

Ensuring a smooth session requires an adequate amount of time. A rushed session will not produce the professional look a client is striving for. I do not recommend squeezing your photo shoot in to a busy or stressful work day.

I am currently available primarily on the weekends, but can do some late afternoons and evenings with notice. Generally sessions run 1-2 hours with ample time to rest and relax. I am determined to take as much time as reasonably needed to create the beautiful result the client is looking for. Currently, I am booking 2-3 weeks in advance. A 50% non-refundable deposit is due at the time of booking to secure date and time of session. The remainder is due the day of your session.  The non-refundable deposit fee can be applied toward a rescheduled session if cancellation is necessary due to illness, poor weather conditions or another urgent matter. I also reserve the right to reschedule the session due to circumstances that will interfere with creating the timeless portrait we have discussed. Please allow at least 72 hours notice for canceling when possible.

what to wear ~

Keep the attire simple and solid. Subtle prints and textures are good too, nothing too flashy or colors that clash. Avoid the “match” trap –  matching exactly is not ideal, simple black or white or colors in similar families tend to produce the best results.

location, location, location ~

The more comfortable and familiar the environment, the better. Clients tend to relax more quickly when they are in familiar surroundings. As the photographer, I can manipulate your surroundings to produce the best image. Inside or out, organized or not, I can make it work!
